A great weekend away, all round.
... with Cheryl's Kobi (Oakridge Killarney) being awarded another 9pt CC and R/up Best of Breed, and my own youngster Hudson (Oakridge Obsidian) gaining 2 Minor Puppy in Group awards, plus a Puppy Sweepstakes win.
A great weekend away, all round.

Oakridge Jeweling Banjos attained his show Championship title this past weekend with multiple Best of Breed awards, and a Runner-up Best in Group.
Wilson is sired by Ch Oakridge Ice Breaker NRD CD and is out of Ch Oakridge Five Magics CD QC. Congratulations to owner/handler Judie Larsen, and the lovable Wilson! Neville's Riley, Oakridge Lochinvar, had some mixed success in Retrieving Trials last weekend. He completed the Novice stake on Saturday, but was unplaced, however his very first attempt at the higher level of competition in the Restricted stake on Sunday must have been just the type of challenge that Riley needed - he gained a well-earned 2nd place! Not bad for a first attempt, and a testament to Neville's thorough training of this very enthusiastic young dog. Well done Neville and Riley! ... and with this, another 1st Place in the Novice Obedience ring for him, and owner/trainer Brian.
This is Brian and Eddy's third qualifying pass in Novice, which earns him his CD title, making him now officially known as "Oakridge Lagerfeld CD". A team for all seasons it seems, Eddy's last pass (with a Best in Trial award too!) was gained in scorching hot conditions, and this one held last weekend was attained in wet, wintry conditions. A BIG "Well Done" to you Brian, and best wishes for success in Open Obedience work with Eddy. It is with a heavy heart that I report that Tosca passed away on 1-5-12, aged a little over 10.5 years, with some complications after surgery.
Until she "retired" to live with Sandy and Rick some years ago, Tosca and her brother Magnum were the "retrieve-a-holics" here at Oakridge. Tosca (Ch Oakridge Five Magics CD QC) was shown a little, competed in the occasional retrieving trial, and for a while, some obedience trials as well (at which she shone). Tosca was one of five progeny from my very successful and versatile "F" litter, sired by Dual Ch (R) Oakridge Argonaut CDX, and out of Ch Oakridge Britanials Realm ET. She was a fun-loving girl, who could be both sweet, and disarmingly naughty ... all at the same time. In recent years, Tosca has bought joy, entertainment, occasional embarasment (due to the "fruits" of her hunting prowess), and finally heartbreak, to not only her adoring owners, Rick and Sandy, but many of their friends and aquaintances. The neighbourhood possums are all sighing with relief, but the recent loss of Tosca has saddened many a heart, both here at Oakridge, and from her wonderful home in Sydney. Vale Tosca Some great news from Helen again, to advise that Jax earned her JDX title with 2 qualifying scores, and 2nd and 3rd placings on the course!
Helen advises that Jax gets complimented regularly about her jumping style. "She really looks fantastic in the air", says Helen. Well done, on yet another great team effort, Helen and Jax! |
