It's not just all dogs ...
Yes, I do have interests outside of the dog world!
Here are some summertime pictures that I took of Stringybark (gum tree) blossom on my property, located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. It has the sweetest aroma!
For the interest of non-Australian visitors to this site, native animals which frequent my property include kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, several breeds of parrots, kookaburras, Pacific Black duck & Wood duck, yellow-tailed black cockatoos, families of magpies, wedged-tailed eagles, possums, lizzards and (unfortunately) the occasional snake.
As well as my camellia collection, also sharing the property here are a flock of (almost trained - I couldn't help myself!) sheep with their Suffolk/Merino crossbred lambs.
For many years, Oakridge was also home to my dear old Pinto horse, until I lost him at age 32. He would have made a great stock horse, or even novelty pony (we occasionally competed in jumping and gymkhana activities), but most of our time together was spent exploring the Australian bush, usually around my local area. We shared around 30 years of companionship together and it really felt like the end of an era when he died.
Bushwalking and photography are also interests of mine, however I don't seem to get much time to endulge in these activities at the moment.
With all the rushing around that I seem to do with various dog activities, it is nice to just spend some quiet time at home occasionally.
