Sue and Mal's beautiful brown-eyed boy.
He always had something to say, right from the moment that he popped out, screaming, into this new world! Zigi was as faithful a dog as you could ever wish for, and just loved his walks. So much so, that he would always announce it loudly to the neighbourhood when his collar and lead appeared for his morning walk to the shop with Mal.
Affectionately known as the "Chick Magnet" in his youth, some young adult male friends would often borrow him during summer, to accompany them while jogging along the beach, as inevitably they would always be stopped by girls, to admire and pat the handsome Zigi.
Zigi had the best life a dog could have, living with Sue and Mal. He usually had company at home, either human and/or canine, trained as a Pal Superdog with Sue for a period of time, and sometimes accompanied them on hunting trips around the countryside. And he was Mal's constant companion, when Sue was away working.
On a few rare occasions, I would take him along to a show or two. He was a beautiful moving dog who, in the words of one judge, "just floated around the ring". From his very limited amount of showing, he managed to accumulate 50 points towards a show title. 25 of these points were gained when he won Best in Group at a show when the weather was well over 40 degrees celsius! He loved the heat, not the cold. When every other dog had melted in the heat, Zigi just sailed around the ring!
He was able to enjoy his moments basking in the sun, right up until the last.
There will be many who will miss him - not the least, his best canine buddy and nephew, Magnum.
Rest in Peace, dear boy.
