It was her qualities of type, soundness and balance which assisted Spice to be awarded Runner Up Best in Show at the 1998 National Specialty, gaining an Excellent grading by FCI judge Mieneke Mills de Hoog (France).
It was her spunky personality, soft mouth, and desire to retrieve that endeared her to me as her owner and trainer. She was a little hunting machine!
Spice was the dam of two Dual Champions, plus another individual Retrieving Champion and other show, obedience and working titled dogs from the two litters that she had at "Oakridge". Her descendants have provided foundation stock for several other successful Australian kennels, both of them having produced Grand (show) Champions.
